Welcome!

Welcome to the 2012-2013 Kindergarten Water Class blog! The purpose of this blog is to offer an inside look into our classroom. There is a lot of exciting things happening so far! Throughout each day our class has been busy during Math Workshop. We have explored different materials including Geoblocks, Connecting Cubes and more. Some students enjoyed creating fortresses while others wanted to see how many cubes could connect in one line! 

During the first few weeks the students are working hard during Teacher Group. They created beautiful drawings to add to their "About Me" book which will be sent home with them. It was so wonderful to see these artists at work and to learn so much about the Kindergarten Water students!

Students have been excited to "meet" new blocks in our construction site each day. We have learned that it is important to build structures that are safe, strong and beautiful. We have also learned the best way to unbuild our structures and "sail" them back to their correct place on our shelf. 

Park time has been one of the best parts of our day. Every student is welcomed to play with one another. As a Mustard Seed rule we have learned that "You can't say you can't play!" New friendships are forming and old friendships remain. We even learned the song "Make new friends, but keep the old, One is silver and the other Gold!"

Rest time is a good way for us to quiet our bodies and have a little time to relax. Our days are very full and after our story we rest our heads on our towels. Students have their own rest area that belongs to them.

We always make room for God at the end of the day. Kindergarten Water reflects on the day and prays together. We thank God for our class and we look forward to the next day!
