Ms. Pargellis' house and the Botanical Gardens, all in the same week!!

The Kindergarten Water class went on two exciting trips last week. First, we ventured uptown and helped Ms. Pargellis with a few jobs. We had a chance to help her plant some flowers and also tour her beautiful garden. Some of the students were brave enough to smell and even taste her lemon leaves.  

We also had a wonderful opportunity to visit the Botanical Gardens. We expanded our knowledge on gardening and plants. We explored the gardens, smelled fresh spices and even climbed in a real tree house. It was such a wonderful day for all of us!

We saw a lot of flowers that were familiar to us, such as tulips and daffodils. We loved meeting new flowers as well!

We climbed up the tree house and enjoyed the smell inside. Everything was made of trees and wood. We took a break inside and sat down on the bench.

We noticed trees we have in our park and also loved seeing something new, crabapple trees. The mini apples were already started to grow on the trees, although they looked more like seeds than like apples. 

Dandelions grow even in the Botanical Gardens! 

The strong smell of lilacs got our attention right away!

Seeing a cactus plant was both a surprise and a delight for the Kindergarten!

Does a cactus smell? We did the smell test together to find out.
