Getting to know each other through drawing

Students have been listening and talking to one another to create friendships throughout each and every day.  We learned a lot about one another as we constructed books for our classroom. Students spoke about their pictures and shared their illustrations. These books are now kept in our library for everyone to view and reflect on during work periods. 

Hopes

The Water class drew their "Hopes" for this year. Many students drew about making new friends, learning new games and going on field trips. We will return to this book as the year progresses to see what we have accomplished as time goes on. 

Families

The students shared about their families and loved ones. Many illustrated their families going on an exciting adventure like hiking or going to the pool. 

Self-portraits

Students created self-portraits. First they looked at themselves in a mirror and after much examination, began to draw. Students admired each others work and praised the accomplishments of friends.

It has been wonderful getting to know more about each others favorite foods, homes, and families. These books will be available throughout the year for our viewing. It has been exciting to watch our library grow!
